Classes for Kids! Note: All classes are listed with recommended ages. These are meant to serve only as a guide. We would be happy to discuss the details of any of our classes with you.
Gettin’ Messy (ages 2-5) Inst: Terrece Crawford Dates: 3 Sat. Sept. 27-Oct.11 Times: 12-1 cost $30
Every parent encourages creativity in their children , the problem is that your little Picasso would love to “create” all over the living room carpet. Well here’s their chance to let the paint fly! Instructor Terrece Crawford will keep the mood safe and fun. We don’t recommend that they wear their Sunday’s best. (Parents are always welcomed to stay)
Intro to Drawing (ages 7-11) Inst: TBA Dates: 4 Sun. Nov. 2-23 Times: 10-11 Cost $45 Designed to introduce young artists to fundamental drawing techniques. This class is fast paced and fun. It’s a good mixture of instruction and creativity meant to keep young artists engaged. (additional materials may be necessary)
Foil Tooling ages 5-11 Inst: Terrece Crawford Date: Sat. Nov 1, Time: 8:30-9:30 Cost $20 This is a remarkably simple project that yields absolutely stunning results! We will design, emboss and color these jewel like little artworks! The example on display at ArtWorks is our most asked about piece of art, and it was made by a 9 year old! Materials are included.
“Best of Both Worlds” (ages 5-12) Inst: TBA Date: 1 Sat. Nov. 15 Times: 8:30-9:30 Cost $25 Calling All Hannah fans! This one hour make and take class is sure to be a “hit” We are going build a collaged fashion book of the entire Hannah Montana cast. (That’s Miley, Lilly, Oliver, Rico, Robby (dad) and Jackson for those of you still not in the know) All materials are included.
Monster Laboratory ( ages 6-11) Inst. Chet Griffith Date: Fri. Oct. 24 Times: 6-7:30 Cost $25 It doesn’t matter whether you want to make your monster scary or adorable , either way it’ll be all yours! Students will learn how to properly use polymer clay. As we design, build, sculpt, bake, and paint our “Monsters” Materials are included! |

Elementary Clay ages 7-12 Inst: Mary Ann Schwartz Dates: 2 Mon. Oct. 20,27 Times: 5-6 Cost $45
This course is designed to introduce beginning students to the world of ceramics, as well as providing returning (More experienced) students with more advanced projects. New students will make a pinch project while returning students will learn coil, or slab. All projects will be glazed and fired. Materials are included!
Comic Art (ages 8+) Josh Frazer Dates: 2 Sun. Nov. 9,16 Times: 2-4 Cost $45
Panels, gutters, and splashes? No these are not signs that you should call a roofer. These are important graphic elements in comic page design. In this 2 day workshop we will walk you step by step through the process of creating, penciling, and inking your very own comic page. Materials are included.
Treasure Jar (ages 5-9) Inst. Marilyn Sterling Date: Sat. Nov. 22 Times: 9-10 Cost $25
Students will learn new assemblage techniques in this fun “make and take” class. Tons of shiny baubles and beads are available to help transform a jar into a work of art! Use it to store your own treasures! Materials are included!

ArtWorks offers private drawing lessons! Every student learns at a different pace. The flexibility of private’s affords us the time to insure that specific concepts and techniques are mastered. Students also benefit from constant feedback , and demonstrations. Examples of student work will be posted on the website
Fashion Designer for kids! (ages 7+) Instructor: Mia Riser Dates 3 Sat. Oct. 25-Nov.8 Times: 8:30-9:30 Cost $40
New York, Paris, Milan, Kenosha! Calling all aspiring fashion designers This is the class for your little Coco Channel! Mia will teach our young designers how to build an idea book and the a.b.c.’s of fashion sketching! |

Colored Pencils (ages 12+) Inst: Chet Griffith Dates: 2 Mon. Nov. 3,10 Times: 6-7:30 Cost $40
Everybody loves Prismacolor pencils! With tons of color choices, and the ability to blend them what reason is there not to love them? This class is designed for those of you who’d like to get the most out of these versatile pencils. (may require additional supplies)
Stained Glass ages 12+ Inst: Riki Tagliapietra Dates 4 Sat. Nov. 8-29 Time 3:30-5:30 Cost $65 This is a four session class designed to introduce all the essential basic stained glass skills. Glass cutting, copper foil, etc. We will be working from templates, so you don’t have to worry about the design. (There is a $10.00 material fee payable to the instructor.)
Beginning/Intermediate Drawing 13+ Inst:Chet Griffith Cost: $45 + materials Dates: 4 Sat. Oct.11-Nov. 1 Times: 5-7 The artist “sees” differently than other people do. Learn the valuable skill of “seeing” as well as several other drawing “tricks”. This is a step by step skill building course with several challenging exercises. This is a good choice for artists of all skill levels. (may require additional materials)
Advanced Drawing ages 14+ Inst:Chet Griffith Cost $45 Dates: 4 Sun. Oct.5-26 Times: 9-11 After you’ve learned the technique, where do you go next? Well, you come here! This advanced class challenges what you already know about drawing. We explore conceptual problem solving in a collaborative environment . This is a project driven class with a new “problem” to solve every week. Some additional materials may be required .
Portraits! 14+ Instructor: Chet Griffith Dates: 2 Mon. Nov. 17-24 Times: 6-8 Cost $45
Nothing has inspired more art than the human face. We break the face down into simple easy to render shapes. In this class you will learn the “secrets” to keeping all the facial features in proportion. When you learn the fundamental concepts, the complexities of the human face become a pleasure to draw. |

Shoe Shop (ages 7+) Inst. Mia Riser Date: 2 Sat. Oct.11, 18 Times: 9-10 on 10/11 9-10”30 on 10/18 Cost $25 Redesign and alter an old dingy pair of shoe, into your very own fantastic fashion statement! Mia will help each aspiring designer create a design and implement it on a real pair of shoes. Whether you’re Designing the perfect pair for your Halloween costume ,or you just want to make some cool new “kicks”, shoe shop is the place to be! You supply the shoes we supply the “stuff”!
House Haunter! (ages 6-10) Inst. Chet Griffith Date: Sat. Oct. 18 Times: 8-10 Cost $35
Calling all ghosts and goblins! Trap doors, secret passages and monsters galore are what makes this “house in a box” project special. Hurry in, we have some serious haunting to do!
Open Art! Dates: Wednesdays from 6 –??? Starts again in October! Cost: FREE Come join other artists here at ArtWorks! Every Weds. Night we gather to work on our art! Everyone is welcome to bring a project to work on or just hang out and talk art!
Stained Glass 1 on 1 Riki Tagliapietra is offering this class forvstudents who wish to design and build their own stained glass project. Riki will help students avoid the common pitfalls associated with window design. Call for further details
